about me

IMG_20160601_183144I trained in Person Centred Counselling and Gestalt Psychotherapy at the Metanoia Psychotherapy Training Institute in London between 1987 and 1992, and have been in private psychotherapy, supervision and consultation practice since then.

I became interested in the family constellations work of Bert Hellinger in 1995, and ran and taught on a training in Family and Systemic Constellations from 2000 to 2011.

Since 2005 I have studied intensively with Franz Ruppert and my work is now entirely focused on Identity-oriented Psychotrauma Therapy following Ruppert’s theories of trauma developed over the past twenty years and set out in his books.

I have edited the English translation of Insa Sparrer’s book Miracle, Solution & System on systemic constellations, and all of Franz Ruppert’s books Trauma, Bonding & Family Constellations (2008) and Splits in the Soul: Integrating Traumatic Experiences (2011), Symbiosis and Autonomy (2012), Early Trauma: Pregnancy, Birth and First Years of Life (2016), and his latest book My Body, My Trauma, My I: Setting Up Intentions, Exiting our Traumabiography (2018). All Ruppert’s books are published by Green Balloon Publishing.

I have made a particular study of utilising the constellations method in the private one-to-one session and in 2010 I completed my first book: In the Presence of Many – Reflections on Constellations Emphasising the Individual Context, which is primarily about Family and Systemic Constellations, and was published by Green Balloon Publishing.

I have facilitated workshops in the UK, Israel, Norway, Romania, Turkey, The Netherlands, Singapore, Brazil, Germany and the USA. These are all personal issues workshops that are often also attended by people interested in learning the work that I do. I work with individuals and groups in London.

I am involved in three training programmes, one in Istanbul organised by Göksel Karabayir, one in Singapore organised by Christine Foong Wong, and I have my own education programme in London (www.healthy-autonomy.co.uk).

My latest books are the heart of things: understanding trauma – working with constellations, and becoming your true self: a handbook for the journey from trauma to healthy autonomy, which I have just revised and updated, and which has been translated into German and Dutch, and is currently being translated into Norwegian and Russian. To purchase click here.
